April 1, 2026 @ 1:00PM, OCH A Room 1213
Navigating the Mindfield: Mindful Strategies for Improving Executive Skills is an interactive workshop designed to help community college students strengthen time management, focus, planning, and self-control through practical mindfulness-based techniques. Participants will learn what mindfulness and executive skills are, how they are connected, and how common cognitive distortions like all-or-nothing thinking and catastrophizing can interfere with academic success. Through brief activities (such as “Spidey Sense,” “Yes, And…” reframing, and an introduction to EFT tapping), and a live knowledge check, students will practice simple strategies they can immediately apply to reduce overwhelm, manage anxiety, and stay engaged in their coursework.
