Our campus community is where ideas thrive and futures are shaped. Voting is one of the most powerful ways to influence the issues that matter to you. Whether you're a student, staff member, or faculty, registering to vote is quick and easy. Plus, the Board of Elections will be onsite to help you register and even print your voter ID card on the spot.

No. Although you must be 18 or older to vote, you may preregister at 16 and 17 years old.
Voters will be asked to show photo ID when voting in North Carolina.
Most voters will simply show their driver’s license.
If a voter does not have an acceptable photo ID, they can get one for free from their county board of elections.
- To vote in North Carolina, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen;
- Live in the county of registration, and have resided there for at least 30 days prior to the date of the election;
- Be at least 18 years old, or will be by the date of the general election. Sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds may pre-register to vote. Seventeen-year-olds may vote in a primary election if they will be 18 at the time of the general election;
- Not be incarcerated for a felony conviction. As of July 2022, those with felony convictions who are not incarcerated but are on probation or parole are eligible to vote.
