Let our financial aid experts help you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. During this event, you'll be able to attend break-out sessions about the types of financial aid available and the application process. You'll also receive one-on-one assistance in completing the FAFSA. This event is open to the public, regardless of whether or not you plan on attending South Piedmont Community College.

Questions & Answers
- What documents do I need to bring in order to complete the FAFSA?
Please bring the following to FAFSA Day at South Piedmont:
- A charged cellphone.
- Access to your personal email account.
- Your individual StudentAid.gov username and password.
- Social Security number, if applicable.
- Alien Registration Number for an eligible noncitizen, if applicable.
- The required contributor’s email address and identifying information.
- 2024 federal tax return and W-2 information for the 2026–27 FAFSA.
- 2025 federal tax return and W-2 information for the 2027–28 FAFSA.
- Records of child support received.
- Current balances of cash, checking, and savings accounts.
- Current investment, business, and income-producing farm information, when applicable.
- Will lunch be provided?
Yes! We'll be providing free pizza.
- I have younger children. Can they attend as well?
Yes, we will have activities available to keep them busy!
- Do I need to bring my own laptop/tablet in order to complete the FAFSA?
You can, but we will also have computers available for you to use.
- How long will it take to complete the FAFSA?
Usually, it takes no more than an hour to complete the FAFSA.
- Why should I complete the FAFSA?
The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for all forms of financial aid, including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. It's the first step toward getting financial aid that will help you pay for your college education.
- I don't plan to attend South Piedmont. Can I still come to FAFSA Day?
Absolutely. This is a free event open to the entire community. Anyone who is planning on attending any college or university may come to FAFSA Day and receive assistance.
- I'm curious about South Piedmont. If I come to FAFSA Day, can I learn more?
Yes! Faculty and staff members will be available to talk to you about our programs, services, and the entire South Piedmont experience.
