Let our financial aid experts help you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. During this event, you'll be able to attend break-out sessions about the types of financial aid available and the application process. You'll also receive one-on-one assistance in completing the FAFSA. This event is open to the public, regardless of whether or not you plan on attending South Piedmont Community College.
Questions & Answers
Please bring the following to FAFSA Day at South Piedmont:
- Your Social Security Number (can be found on Social Security card)
- Your driver’s license (if you have one)
- W-2 forms (2021 if you’re completing the 2023-2024 FAFSA; 2022 if you’re completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA)
- Your (and/or your parents’) Federal Income Tax Return (2021 if you’re completing the 2023-2024 FAFSA; 2022 if you’re completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA)
- IRS Form 1040, foreign tax return, or tax return from Puerto Rico,Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated State of Micronesia
- Any untaxed income records (2021 if you’re completing the 2023-2024 FAFSA; 2022 if you’re completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA)— e.g., payments to tax-deferred pension and savings plans, tax-exempt interest and child support received
- Records of taxable earnings from Federal Work-Study or other need-based work programs (if applicable)
- Records of any grants, scholarships, and fellowship aid that was included in your or your parents’ adjusted gross income (AGI)
- Any current bank statements
- Any current business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock, bonds and other investment records
- Documentation that you are a U.S. permanent resident or other eligible noncitizen, if applicable

Usually, it takes no more than an hour to complete the FAFSA.
The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for all forms of financial aid, including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. It's the first step toward getting financial aid that will help you pay for your college education.
Absolutely. This is a free event open to the entire community. Anyone who is planning on attending any college or university may come to FAFSA Day and receive assistance.
Yes! Faculty and staff members will be available to talk to you about our programs, services, and the entire South Piedmont experience.
